My Story

Welcome to Show-Stopper Quilts!

My name is Shana and I am in North Pole, Alaska, which is about 10 miles south of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Since 2007, I have been providing longarm quilting services to happy customers throughout Alaska and the United States.

Besides long arm quilting for customers, I'm also Alaska's sales representative for APQS longarm quilting machines. For decades, APQS has been a benchmark in the industry; known for their quality-built machines made in Iowa and their reputation for superb customer service.

My goal at Show-Stopper Quilts is to give you a beautiful quilt at the lowest cost possible. It would be an honor for me to work with you to help finish your quilt.

Longarm Machine Quilting

Show-Stopper Quilts uses an APQS Millennium longarm quilting machine. I work closely with my customers to create unique and one-of-a-kind artistic freehand quilting designs to accentuate the piecing in your quilt top, embroidery and applique.

In 2011, the IntelliQuilter computerized system was added. The IntelliQuilter provides hundreds of edge-to-edge patterns and beautiful custom block designs for you to choose from.

Quilt Preparation

Before delivering your quilt to me, please review the following important requirements:

The backing fabric should be square. I have created a drawing to explain: Click here to view the drawing.

After squaring the backing fabric, measure it to ensure the backing is at least 8 to 10 inches wider and longer than your quilt top. The extra fabric is necessary in order to load the quilt on the frame.
